This is a late 1980s vintage Lanvin Paris jacket that was made in Italy.  The fabric is made in a fine houndstooth patterned wool woven in tones of green, red, brown, ochre gold, orange and white - the overall colour impression is muted green with red and orange accenting.  This vintage Lanvin Paris jacket has a jetted pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest.  It has heavily padded shoulders, medium width notched lapels and a two button closure.  There are three similar buttons at either cuff and the back bottom has a double vent.   The jacket is fully lined in a brownish grey toned rayon cupro fabric.  It has a pocket built into the interior at either side.

Label: Lanvin Paris.

Retailer label: Brisson Brisson Vêtements de Luxe CA 04023. Brisson & Brisson was an exclusive men’s clothing boutique located in Montreal that closed some 20 years ago.  It was favoured by the Canadian business and political elite and Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a regular customer there. Anything that you bought at Brisson & Brisson was of exceptional quality.

Fabric label:  Pure New Wool 100% Virgin Wool

Tailor label:  Made in Italy with various model and lot numbers

Age:  there is a “partita” number on the tailor’s label that reads 1988 - given the heavily padded shoulders, that could very possibly be a date code.

Sizing: European size 54 chest is indicated which is equivalent to a US size 44.  To be sure of fit,  please rely on the following measurements:

Shoulders: 20 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 25” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 16 1/2”

Chest:  48” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  43” around

Overall length:  31”, measured flat

Condition: This vintage Lanvin Paris jacket is in very good condition - there is some discolouration to the lining at the armpits, most of it on the armpit shields (see last close-up photo).  You would eliminate most of it by removing the shields, although some would still remain - a tailor could re-patch this if it bothered you. Otherwise, no other stains, odour, wear or tears - this jacket presents itself very well.

This is a very nice quality vintage Lanvin Paris jacket - great with a pair of black pants….
